The main function of the IT department is to support the NIMR-MMRC IT infrastructure, the unit plans, evaluates and implements different IT solutions for the use in the programme.
The unit also provides tailor made solutions for new projects ensuring smooth operation during the study.

The infrastructure is currently divided in two physical nodes, Mbeya Server farm and LMU Server farm to ensure redundancy of services and easy global access.
